The Cobbler Creek Flood Mitigation Dam was constructed in 1997. It’s designed to smooth the 1 in 100 year flood that occurs in the Adelaide area.
Since its construction the spillway has become a perfect canvas for local street artists.
Awesome street art now adorns the old Gasworks buildings in East Street, Brompton.
In 1863, The South Australian Gas Company (otherwise known as the Brompton Gasworks) brought light to Adelaide’s streets and with it a new city nightlife.
Some of the artwork here is done by the Toy Soldiers crew. They’re well known around Adelaide for their distinctive style!
