Location: Port Adelaide

Released in 1993, Australian film Bad Boy Bubby quickly rose to cult-like status. Joining many other films shot in Adelaide, it tells the story of Bubby, a man who has spent the first 35 years of his life locked in a disgusting basement by his abusive and controlling mother.

Several months after Bad Boy Bubby was completed, the film was entered in the 1993 Venice Film Festival. The film ‘tore the place down’. It instantly became an award-winning success.

Director Rolf de Heer used several locations around Port Adelaide for Bad Boy Bubby. The very same locations are regularly used by amateur photographers & videographers to perfect their craft.
